The Tamil Nadu Primary
Co-operative All Workers Association today staged a demonstration here demanding that biometric devices which, they said, were not required for Primary agricultural cooperative credit societies, be withdrawn.
Association members alleged that the equipment was supplied for Rs 5000 though its cost was only Rs 2500-3500.
The loss to the government worked out to Rs 1.5 crore, they alleged.
