National award winning filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan today praised the demonetisation of high value currency notes, saying it was a good step in the long run.
"In the short term, people may face problems but it will be good in the long run," the veteran Malayali film director said at the 22nd Kolkata International Film Festival.
He said it was a good move by the government because "we have to put a check on black money and fake currency".
