Unable to get a few junked currency notes exchanged, a frustrated poor woman became topless in front of RBI regional office here today.
The woman, who was with her child, was in tears when turned away by guards after repeated request to exchange her junked notes. In protest she sat in front of the RBI entrance gate.
When the guards tried to forcefully move her away from the entrance, the woman in disgust took off her clothes and sat topless in front of the iron gate, stunning the onlookers as well as the security personnel.

Many others including retired and aged persons who have come to exchange their old notes said the government should not go back on the promise made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his November 8 address to the nation that old notes could be exchanged at the select RBI offices till March 31.

The woman, who was taken to Parliament Street police station, didn't give definite answers to police about her identity or family background.
"She was carrying a photocopy of an ID card but she didn't show it to us. She also didn't show us the photocopy of the ID card that she was carrying. When she was quizzed about her family, se didn't furnish details about her husband. She also didn't share the amount she was carrying in the form of old notes," said a senior police officer.
Yesterday, she had come to RBI and had somehow managed to get inside where she got into a quarrel with some officers. Today, she came again and did this to attract attention," he added.
It is suspected that the woman could be mentally disturbed, they said.
