In the wake of the Centre's decision to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today canceled leaves of police personnel and ordered them to ensure people do not face any inconvenience at public places.
Home Guards will also be called for duty to assist the police in thwarting any untoward incidents, an official statement said here.
Necessary arrangements have been ensured for the convenience of people, especially during purchase of petrol, diesel, milk, tickets of buses and seeds from authorised outlets, it said.
Following the Chief Minister's orders, Chief Secretary D S Dhesi today convened an emergency meeting of senior officers here and put these directions for immediate action.
