The city unit of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) today staged a protest here against the Centre over its "unpreparedness" in handling the crisis after the demonetisation of high value currency notes that has caused inconvenience and hardships to the common man.
"NCP is not against the decision, in fact, (party president Sharad) Pawar saheb had welcomed the decision of the government on the first day," said NCP spokesperson Ankush Kakde.
"However, looking at the current plight of the common people, who are subjected to inconvenience and hardships while withdrawing money from the banks and ATMs, it seems that the Centre has completely failed to provide alternate measures to lessen the sufferings of common people," Kakde added.
