Demonetised notes seized, three arrested

Three persons has been arrested for possessing demonetised currencies of 500 and 1000, with a scrap value of Rs one crore, in the neighbouring Tirupur district, police said.

Noticing that a car was parked in Solipalayam on the outskirts of Tirupur, police, who were on a vehicle checking last night, questioned three persons in the vehicle.

A search in the car resulted in the seizure of the scrapped notes, police said, adding Ramasamy, Senthilkumar Mohammed Sulaiman have been arrested.

Tirupur Judicial Magistrate S Palani today remanded them to 15 days custody, police said.
