He said these figures were taken from government-run hospitals and the number of patients admitted or treated for the disease in private hospitals and nursing homes has not been reported yet.
"We take blood samples regularly to test for malaria from across the district. During the last six months, we tested 4,02,317 blood samples, of which 714 tested positive for malaria," Ambadekar said.
"We also took 324 blood samples from 25 rural public health centres across villages to test for dengue, of which 45 cases were found positive. So far, four other patients died of dengue in Kalamb, Ner and Ralegaon in six months," he said.
