Three employees of a dental college allegedly siphoned off funds worth over Rs 15 lakhs, police said today.

A complaint filed by Satish Arora, Chief Vigilance Officer, Manav Rachna International University, accused Akash, Sandeep Arora and Asha Bhatia of siphoning off the dental college's funds in over three years, they said.

The college management suspects that manipulation of funds was being done since 2012.

Explaining the process of how the funds were siphoned off, the complaint said that with every receipt, three others were supposed to be issued as per the procedure.

While Sandeep and Akash were deputed to collect money and issue the receipt, Asha was to tally the amount received with the receipts issued.

She had to sign the office copy after checking receipts.

The trio managed to show a lower amount of deposit as Asha verified the amount and signed on the office copy.

The complainant said the trio has duped the institute of at least Rs 15 lakh, police said.

Arora said that the amount may increase after verification is done.

A case was registered with Surajkund police station yesterday under relevant sections of the IPC.

Police have started investigation, investigating officer Sub-Inspector Sukhbir Singh said.
