Deoghar airport by 2019

The Deoghar airport would be

completed by 2019 and would prove a milestone for composite and comprehensive development of the state, Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said.

He was speaking after Jharkhand government, DRDO and Airport Authority of India signed an MoU to develop Deoghar airport.

Das said that eastern states should develop and the airport at Deoghar would play a vital role in it.

The new airport and new air connectivity would boost investments, he said adding work was on for connectivity between Jamshedpur, Bokaro, Dumka, Palamau, Ranchi and Deoghar.

A proposal has been kept from flight connectivity between Ranchi and Chennai and Ranchi and Hyderabad, he said.
 

Connectivity has an important contribution for development, Das said along with road connectivity and air connectivity, water ways connectivity work was in progress.

Economic activity would speed up with the completion of road bridge over Ganga at Sahibganj, he said adding several investors would be coming following the Global Investment Summit.

Tourism would get a boost following the construction of airport in Deoghar, according to an official release.

Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha, Jharkhand Urban Development Minister C P Singh were among those present at the programme, it said.
