A departmental inquiry has been started against two police officers who were posted at Panrui police station in Birbhum district when the family members of Sagar Ghosh went to lodge the murder complaint and who had done the initial investigation in the case, police sources said today.
The two police officers against whom departmental inquiry has been started are then Officer-in-Charge of Panrui police station Sampat Mukherjee and Sub Inspector Dwijaraj Sahana, the sources said.
Sagar Ghosh, father of Hriday Ghosh, a rebel TMC candidate was killed on the eve of panchayat election last year.

The family members of Ghosh alleged that the two officers of Panrui police station had forced them to sign on blank papers which was later registered as 'complaints'.
They alleged that the content in the first complaint and names of the accused also were written by those two officers.
The family members later submitted 'rectified' complaints to the higher authority of the district police in which they mentioned the names of 41 persons including a number of TMC leaders.
