Senior Congress leader Aslam Sher Khan said here today that dependence on the senior leaders of the party was the main cause of its defeat in the last month's Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh.
Khan, a hockey player turned politician, said that these leaders kept telling Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi that the party would win.
Congress can still bounce back if it went back to its roots and reach out to the common people, Khan added.
He also dared Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to defeat Congress leaders such as union minister Jyotriaditya Scindia, Kamalnath and Digvijay Singh in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
