Depression moves to Jharkhand, Bihar

The weather today looked up in the districts of south Bengal with the depression moving over to Jharkhand and Bihar.

The Met department has forecast generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thunderstorm in Gangetic West Bengal for the coming two days.

For the sub-Himalayan districts of West Bengal, the weatherman predicted thunderstorms in the next two days.

Burdwan recorded the highest rainfall of 49.1 mm in the state in 24 hours from 8.30 am yesterday, while Asansol recorded 14.4 mm rain and Bankura got 9.3 mm precipitation.

Kolkata, which recorded the day's highest temperature at 33.6 degree Celsius, received only 2.7 mm rainfall, the Met department said.
