Organised by Child In Need Institute (CINI), the 'Childline Se Dosti' campaign was meant to let people know about Childline, the toll-free children helpline number of 1098 which helps children in distress.
The batch of 70 children reached out to commuters by tying friendship bands and distributing leaflets giving information on childline.
The tram played child friendly Hindi songs to which the children danced along. Along with this there were public addressing system giving information to the general public about the relevance and activities of child helpline both in Bengali and Hindi.
The campaign ended with a cultural programme at Sealdah car parking zone consisting of mime by deaf and mute children, puppet show and signature campaign ending with a dance show performed by the children.
