Deputy civic commissioner, his aide caught taking bribe

A deputy commissioner of the Dhule Municipal Corporation and his aide were caught Monday by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a teacher to release his payment, official said.

The deputy commissioner, Ravindra Sheshrao Jadhav (51), and his aide, clerk Anand Jadhav, were nabbed by the ACB which laid a trap after receiving a complaint from the teacher, he said.

Ravindra Jadhav had demanded Rs 15,000 as a bribe from the teacher which was to be paid through the clerk, the official said.

The teacher agreed to pay the money and at the same time lodged a complaint with the ACB, he said.

 

Sleuths from the anti-graft agency caught the duo while accepting the bribe money in Dhule, North Maharashtra, the official said, adding a probe is underway.
