The state government is concerned about people living in rural belts in remote areas and has launched several projects for their welfare, he said.
Chand, accompanied by a high-level team of district officers, visited far-flung areas and assured the locals of required assistance.
He said migrant colony Naiwala is among many steps taken for rehabilitation of border migrants and over 6,100 families have been accommodated there.
With the support from the Centre, the state government has launched mega infrastructure projects, he said.
