Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam today dismissed as 'imaginary', reports that he would resign and involve in working for the AIADMK, of which he is a coordinator.

He stated this while speaking to reporters at the airport here.

The Deputy Chief Minister did not elaborate.

Yesterday, he had reportedly said at the party executive meeting that he was ready to sacrifice his post as Deputy Chief Minister if the party members so desired and work to strengthen AIADMK.

On the prospects of AIADMK in the Tiruparakunram and Tiruvarur by-polls, he exuded confidence that the AIADMK would win hands down even if it contested alone or with alliance partners.

To a question on the decision of DMDK to fight the 2019 elections alone, Panneerselvam said it was their policy decision and added that the party should not deviate from its stand, he said.

Later, he visited a private hospital where his daughter is undergoing treatment for pancreatic problem.
