The Delhi High Court today directed that a Pizza Hut outlet be de-sealed in Prashant Vihar area of North Delhi and allowed to operate till further orders.
Justice Manmohan passed the order on the plea of Devyani International Ltd, a franchisee of Pizza Hut in India, which had challenged the NDMC's September 10 order to seal its premises on the ground floor of PVR Fun City multiplex at Prashant Vihar.
The HC also directed the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) to hold an inquiry against its officials concerned who had allegedly issued a forged or illegal health trade licence for operating the Pizza Hut outlet.

The court ordered the inquiry after an NDMC official told it that the outlet's health trade licence (HTL) which was renewed in 2012 was a forged/illegal document and was issued in connivance with one of its officials.
The company has submitted in its plea that it has been operating since 2005 and in May 2012 its HTL was renewed till March, 2015.
MCD, however, was of the view that the outlet's HTL had expired in March 2014.
