A detached part apparently belonging to a helicopter reportedly fell on the terrace of a house in Lagaguda area this afternoon, triggering panic among the locals, police said.

According to Kran Kumar Singh, Station House officer (SHO) of Lalaguda police station, they received a call from a resident of Yadav Basti saying an object resembling door of an aircraft fell on his house and caused loud noise.

"Our team has recovered an object which looks like a chopper door. No one has been injured in the incident. There was no complaint also. We have not registered any case. We are verifying with aviation experts," the SHO told PTI.

The incident led to tense moments for locals. It may be recalled that one training aircraft belonging to Indian Air Force (IAF) recently crashed at an isolated place on the city outskirts.

Police have taken possession of the object which is approximately 4X3 feet, the inspector added.
