Actor Dev Patel has praised Maggie Smith and Richard Gere, who are his co-stars in 'The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel'.
Patel reprises his role as Sonny, the overeager young owner of a hotel for British retirees, while Smith stars as Muriel, Sonny's new co-manager, reported Digital Spy.
Describing the on-screen partnership with Smith, the 24-year-old actor said, "It's still an ensemble cast but Sonny is at the centre of it and I'd say Maggie is too. They run the hotel together. I mean talk about chemistry - it's some of the best chemistry I've ever had in a movie.

"They're quite an odd couple but they're put together really well. It's quite beautiful because she not only becomes a business partner doing damage control, but he also looks at her as a kind of mother figure."
Tamsin Greig and Richard Gere joined the cast for the sequel.
Commenting on the new additions to the film, Patel added: "Tamsin is an absolute gem of a talent. She is one of the funniest people I have ever met and she's so warm. You could sit there talking to her for hours.
"And Richard is just a superstar, I guess. My dad's favourite film is Pretty Woman so I grew up watching him. When he'd walk in as they call action he'd have that really cool movie star walk. Very cool," he said.
