Deve Gowda meets Telangana CM Chandrasekhar Rao

: Former Prime Minister and JDS supremo Deve Gowda today met Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao here.

Gowda, who is on a visit to Hyderabad, made a courtesy call on Rao at Pragathi Bhavan (Raos official residence complex-cum-camp office).

Rao's son and Minister for IT, Municipal Administration and Urban Development, K T Rama Rao, who was also present at the meeting, tweeted "Former PM Sri Deve Gowda Ji called on Honble @TelanganaCMO today in Hyderabad."

The TRS chief, popularly known as KCR, who has proposed forging a non-Congress, non-BJP coalition in national politics, Federal Front comprising various regional parties, had earlier met Gowda in Bengaluru in April to seek his support for launching an "alternative movement" to bring qualitative change in the country.

 

Rao had also met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata to discuss the plans for evolving a coalition of regional parties.
