''There should be no misgiving or apprehension in the mind of any community on the assumption of being discriminated or neglected. The territorial council will see brighter and happier days with the cooperation of all'', Nunisa said at a function organised at Khaspur in Cachar district to felicitate him by different organisations.
Nunisa said his top priority would be to ensure that the special economic package of Rs 200 crore to be given to the Council over the next five years for special projects, was utilized fairly for even pace of development.
Nunisa further said that he along with the cadres were compelled to go to the jungles due to the indifferent and step motherly attitude of the government which prompted them to opt for insurgency.
''With changing time and realizing the futility of gun-culture and the feelers from the people and the government persuading them to return to the mainstream of life and the assurance of the government to address their legitimate grievances, they decided to abjure violence'', Nunisa added.
