Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said the state had got a government enjoying absolute majority for the first time and developmental works are going on transparently.
"For the first time in 15 years, Jharkhand got a government with absolute majority, and there is a high expectation of the people from it. It is functioning transparently," Das said.
Speaking at a seminar, "Media & Governance", Das said the media works like a mirror of the society and also has a controlling role over government's functions.

The media should crosscheck the veracity and accuracy of a news before publishing it has an impact on the reader, he said.
Jharkhand Urban Development Minister C P Singh said the press is the 'Fourth Estate' and works as a guard and that is why constructive news stories should also find equal space along with negative ones.
