Braving dense fog and freezing cold, thousands of devotees thronged Gurdwaras across the state this morning to participate in the celebrations of birth anniversary of the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh.
Devotees celebrated the occasion with traditional fervour and zeal and a big 'nagar kirtan' preceded the celebrations.
Hymn-singing ('gurbani kirtan'), religious discourses ('katha'), 'bhog' of 'Akand Path'(winding up of 48 hour non-stop recitation of holy Guru Granth Sahib) and 'langar' (free community kitchen) were also organised in the Gurdwaras on the occasion.
