A large number of devotees thronged the famous Kapal Mochan Mela today, with the authorities saying more than 10 lakh pilgrims are expected to take holy dip at the three sarovars (tanks) here.
Pilgrims from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand thronged the Kapal Mochan, Rin Mochan and Surajkund Sarovars to take the holy dip past this midnight and lit 'diyaas' on its banks, officials said.
Tight security arrangements have been made to ensure that the event takes place smoothly, police said.
The mela (fair) administration has made necessary arrangements for the benefit of the pilgrims, Deputy Commissioner S S Phulia said, who along with SP Arun Nehra and other senior officers inspected the fair ground.
