Devu Khan's rendition of "Dum-A-Dum" for Nagesh Kukunoor's upcoming movie "Dhanak" has earned praise and the filmmaker says he fell in love with the singer's voice the first time he heard him.

The 14-year-old singer hails from the Manganiyar community and belongs to a family of folk singers.

"Devu was selected by Tapas Relia (the music producer). We were very keen to get a real Manganiyar to sing the part. Tapas contacted Swaroop Khan, who crooned 'Tharki Chokro' from 'PK' and is elder brother of Devu, to connect with his family in Barmer," Kukunoor said in a statement.

"When I heard his voice for the first time I just fell in love with it. He was perfect for Chotu," he added.

The video of "Dum-A-Dum" was recently launched by the makers. Featuring Krrish as 'Chotu' and Hetal as 'Pari,' the song is a part of their journey to meet Shah Rukh Khan.

"Dhanak" is set to hit theatres on June 17, 2016.
