The Director General Naval Projects (DGNP), an organisation which undertakes creation and augmentation of infrastructure for the city-based Eastern Naval Command (ENC), will be celebrating its golden jubilee tomorrow.
As part of the golden jubilee celebrations, a seminar with the central theme 'Modern Trends in Marine Ship Building infrastructure: Challenges and Opportunities' and a technical exhibition will be held here, a Defence release said today.
The seminar and the exhibition will be inaugurated by Commander-in-Chief, ENC Vice Admiral HCS Bisht, it said.

Established in June 1967, DGNP has built the Naval Dockyard here and undertaken a large number of marine infrastructure works and other technical works of various shore establishments.
Presently headed by Vice Admiral D M Deshpande, DGNP is handling major projects such as jetties, marine infrastructure up-gradations, ship lifts, bridges and also enhancing the existing support facilities at the various bases and industrial establishments, it added.
