Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the state, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) K Rajendra Kumar today reviewed the security arrangements at a high level meeting here today.
"A high-level meeting, chaired by Director General of Police K Rajendra Kumar, was held at police control room here to review the security arrangements ahead of Prime Minister's visit to the state and opening of Darbar move offices in winter capital on November 9," a police spokesman said.
In final touch to the security setup of PM's visit, all security arrangements for Prime Minister's visit including the routes and locations were discussed in threadbare at the meeting.
"The deployment of manpower from different forces and intelligence agencies was also discussed in the meeting," he said.
Addressing the meeting, the DGP stressed for greater synergy among different agencies and forces, being deployed for the security of VVIP.
While discussing traffic arrangements, the DGP asked for diversion of public transport to alternate routes so that common people do not have to suffer due to movement of VVIPs.
He also asked to make the railway police more vigilant in order to foil any ill designs of anti-national elements.
The DGP emphasised upon keeping an eye on the activities of suspicious elements who try to find an opportunity to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in the state.
Security arrangements for opening of Darbar move offices in winter capital on November 9 were also reviewed in the meeting, spokesman said.
The meeting was informed that all security arrangements have been put into place for smooth opening of offices in Jammu.
The officers from various agencies briefed about the security arrangements put in place in connection with VVIP visit. They also gave a detailed plan of deployment of security personnel for the visit, he added.
The DGP asked to utilise the services for security gadgets including CCTV cameras en-route the visit and locations.
He said comprehensive communication network has been established to coordinate among the agencies involved in the security arrangements.
