Maharashtra social justice minister Shivajirao Moghe today said the Dhangar community in the state will not be able to secure reservations, as it does not satisfy the parameters.

"The community members demand reservations before every election. But they will not get it because they do not fit the parameters," Moghe said while talking to reporters here.

The community's traditional occupation is herding.

Moghe added that there are 33 other communities which too want reservations, and granting the demand of one of them would open a Pandora's box.

"There is only one option left if reservation is to be provided to them. The Centre will have to create a third class of reserved category apart from SC and ST," the minister said.
