The municipal corporation here has proposed an entry tax on the vehicles coming from outside Himachal Pradesh.
The decision was taken during a budget meeting of the corporation today.
"Lots of tourists visit the city and we are not charging anything, whereas we are spending a huge amount to make the city clean. So, one can call it as a cleanliness charge," Mayor Rajni Vyas said.

The corporation will make four toll barriers where the vehicles from other states shall be charged @ Rs 60/- for small and Rs 120/- for bigger vehicles, she said.
Vyas said that it has also been decided that all the fairs being organised in the vicinity of the city shall now be organised by the Dharamshala Municipal Corporation to generate funds and to give better facilities to the public.
She further added that a proposal is being sent to the state government to allow the corporation to levy Rs 8 on the sale of each wine bottle, Rs 5 on each beer bottle and Rs 4 on the sale of each bottle of country liquor within the limits of the civic body.
The civic body today passed the budget worth Rs 95.11 cr for the year 2018-19, whereas last year it was Rs 137 cr.
