The district collectorate building here was today attached upon an order by a local court in a case brought by Indian Oil Corporation against the Rajasthan government seeking the recovery of Rs 16.57 lakh.
The government failed to pay IOC Rs 16.57 lakh in a case in 1991 as directed by a lower court following which the additional district judge issued an order on July 15 for attaching the collectorate building and notices were pasted on the building today.
The counsel for IOC, Sudhir Bhushan, said that the government in 1991 had failed to hand over possession of land to IOC for the setting up of a petrol pump in the district despite a deposit having being made of Rs 8.33 lakh.
