Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni says he was surprised to see actor Sushant Singh Rajput portray him keeping in mind the minute details in upcoming biopic "M S Dhoni: The Untold Story".

The "Shuddh Desi Romance" actor in order to get into the skin of the cricketer, had to undergo rigorous training to perfect his cricketing skills, specially to pull off Dhoni's trademark 'helicopter' shot well on screen.

"He (Sushant) has worked very hard. He was practicing everyday for more than nine months. He was batting everyday for over three hours when it comes to portraying the (cricket) shots," Dhoni said in a statement here.

Beside cricket training, the 30-year-old actor had to emote the 'captain cool' (as Dhoni is fondly called) by understanding his mindset when his team won or lost a match.

"Also the way I walk, the way I talk, he has copied almost everything. In fact I was amazed to see him do all these things," he adds.

Also starring Kiara Advani and Anupam Kher the film is scheduled for September 30 release.
