"The High Court judgement in Jaiprakash Associate Limited case is indictment of the BJP government in Himachal Pradesh which gave nod to the company for setting up thermal plant in the state...Dhumal is misleading people by putting all the blame on the previous Congress government in the state," he said.
The Congress leader said his government had withdrawn clearance to thermal plants but the BJP government on coming to power "reversed the policy and allowed setting of thermal plants upto 60 MW capacity".
Himachal Pradesh High Court had imposed a penalty of Rs 100 crore on JAL for violation of environmental laws on May 4.
Dhumal had said the clearance for the setting up of JAL's cement and thermal plants in Solan district were given by the previous Congress government between 2004 and 2007 and the BJP had no role in facilitating these plants.
