Press Trust of India Shimla
Himachal Pradesh Industries and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Agnihotri today slammed BJP leaders for "raising fingers" at Governor Urmila Singh for granting prosecution sanction against former Chief Minister P K Dhumal in HPCA case, said their conduct was "uncalled for and disgraceful".

In a statement issued here today, Agnihotri said that "as Governor is the constitutional head of the state, questioning her decision and attributing motives is unlawful and direct attack on the Constitution..."

Reacting to BJP's allegations that the Governor acted "in haste" in granting prosecution sanction against Dhumal, the minister said the vigilance bureau's charge-sheet against the former Chief Minister was based on facts, and not like the one submitted by BJP to the Governor against Congress leaders.

The BJP charge-sheet was "a bundle of lies, ambiguous and misleading just to divert attention of the people from their misdeeds".

"BJP leaders do not believe in the Constitution... While in power everything seems to be right for them and whenever they have to sit in the opposition benches, instead of accepting their defeat they are in the habit of making contemptuous remarks against the ruling party and have now crossed the limits by making disrespectful remarks against the Governor," Agnihotri said.

He alleged that the Dhumal government went out of the way to give prime government land worth crores of rupees to the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association headed by his son Anurag Thakur.
