Milk processing in the diary plant of Odisha state cooperative milk producers' federation (OMFED) at Ankushapur, about 8-km from here, resumed operation today as the striking labourers joined their duty.

The 40,000 liter capacity plant was closed down for last four days due to the agitation by the 52 contractual labourers demanding to regularize their jobs. The labourers were engaged by a Bhubaneswar based private firm, officials said.

"Most of the agitating labourers have joined the duty after discussing with the sub collector (Berhampur) Nikhil Pawan Kalayan. They have also submitted a declaration not to indulge any indiscipline activities in future," said plant manager PP Mishra.
