Differently-abled girl escapes from govt-run home in Raj

A 16-year-old differently-abled girl escaped from a government-run children's home here.

The girl escaped from the home in Jamdoli area on Monday night after opening its main gate and boarded a bus, police said.

She went to nearby Bassi town when a man spotted her standing alone and informed police.

The girl was later handed over to the authorities of the home, police said.

As the matter came to light, Social Justice and Empowerment Department today removed two security guards for dereliction in duty, official sources said.
