The DIG (Kolhan) Md Nehal told police personnel to change their style of functioning.

The DIG (Kolhan) told police officers to change their "style of functioning" to inculcate confidence among the people.

He asked the officers to discharge their responsibility honestly and sincerely instead of wasting energy for cream postings.

Referring to the recent complaints of the businessmen and industrialists against the Seraikela-Kharswan police for "unnecessary harassment" and pressure exerted to "extort money", the DIG(Kolhan) cautioned the police personnel to discharge their responsibilities and investigate cases honestly and sincerely to punish the culprits.

We are bestowed with "power of arrest" for impartial investigation and arrest of the culprits and not for misuse of it, he said adding that if the power of arrest was seized, we are powerless and no one would come to us.

Praising Senior Superintendent of Police of East Singhbhum Amol V Homkar and his team for cracking a criminal gang led by a suspended police constable-cum- psychopathic killer targeting the Tata Group officials in the recent months here, Nehal said Homkar and his team properly understood the nature of crime and investigated accordingly, leading them to arrest the gang members.

The DIG (Kolhan) accompanied by Homkar and Jamshedpur City Superintendent of Police Karthik S addressed the members of Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) on last night.

Assuring adequate security to the business community, Homkar said attempts were on to utilize latest technology to curb criminal activities in and around the city and install CCTV cameras particularly in crime-prone zones of the city.

SCCI President Suresh Sonthalia felicitated Nehal, Homkar and Karthik.
