Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today said the upcoming Digifest here will provide a great platform to entrepreneurs and give a boost to direct and indirect job creation in the state.

The two-day event -- Rajasthan Digifest 2017 -- will kick off tomorrow.

"Digifest Udaipur will provide a great platform for founders or entrepreneurs to get more traction leading to funding, engagement and increasing customer base and give a boost to direct and indirect job creation in Rajasthan in various sectors," the chief minister said.

Mindful of the fact that startups are one of the biggest job creators, the government has curated events like DigiFest Rajasthan and iStart which provide platforms to entrepreneurs and venture capitalists.

The first edition of iStart witnessed over 20,000 participants and infused new energy in the startup ecosystem - ensuring end-to-end incubation, acceleration and growth of startups.

To rid the state of the 'BIMARU' tag, Raje said that one of the focus areas for her government was to leverage technology and include it in all reforms of the ecosystem.

So the government has implemented multiple disruptive initiatives using technology for Bhamashah Yojana, e-Mitra and Rajasthan Sampark, besides deploying best technology with Abhay Command Center, Big Data Analytics and more, she added.

Rajasthan claims to be the first and only state which has moved towards digitising all heritage structures in the state.

To empower and strengthen the citizens, the government will also be providing a DigiKit to each resident -- official government endorsed email ID, digital signature and secure document vault.

The event, organised by the state's Information and Technology Department, will witness eminent speakers discussing thought-provoking ideas, display of latest innovations in IT, workshops for emerging startups as well as students and the unveiling of latest citizen-centric projects by the state government.
