National award winner Podokhep director Suman Ghose today said a new platform has come up for digital release of films of aspiring directors who need not wait for the one proverbial big break.

"A new platform Bioscope has come up where you can submit your short films and show it online," the director of numerous film festival feted 'Shyamal Uncle Turns Off Light' told a group of film students of I-LEAD here.

"It is a very democratic way of looking at things. Hopefully there are future Satyajit Rays among them," Suman, having starred Mithun Chakroborty in Nobelchor said.

Ghosh was part of the panelists in the seminar "Emerging Opportunities in Television and Film' by the ILead.

In Bakita Byaktigato, having chosen for national award this year, director Prodipto had to wait in the wings for years before the film got rolling, he pointed out.

Priya Entertainments head Arijit Dutta said Bengali films are getting released in select theatres in metros outside the state but that can in no way be compared with the release of Bollywood.
