Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said digitisation has not only helped in speedy execution of work but also brought more transparency in services and has kept corruption under check.
He was speaking at a function organised under 'Digital India' campaign where he flagged off two mobile vans, an official release said.
These vans would be taken to rural areas across the state over the next six months to disseminate information regarding e-Governance schemes through audio visual tools.
While underlining the significance of digitisation in keeping a check on corruption, Khattar said that a survey revealed that as a result of linking of ration cards with Aadhar card, five lakh families out of total 11.5 lakh families have been detected as using both kerosene and LPG though they are entitled for either of the two under the public distribution system.
He also launched a mobile application 'Dial Haryana' which will provide access to contact number of officers of all the departments of Haryana. News update of Chief Minister's office and latest information of other departments would also be uploaded on this application.
Referring to the various steps taken by the state government in the field of e-governance, Khattar said more than 200 services were being provided in the villages through Common Service Centres (CSC).
Optical fiber has been laid in 3700 villages of Haryana and the remaining villages would be covered by March 2017. This will make services accessible to people in their villages eliminating the need to visit the district headquarter, he said.
