Singh won by a margin of 8,153 votes, defeating ruling BJP's candidate Gopal Patwa.
Though it is a local body election, significance has been attached to it in Madhya Pradesh as Raghogarh happens to be Digvijay Singh's ancestral town from where he began his political career in 1960s.
