Taking a dig at Prime Minister's Kisan Kalyan Mela at Madhya Pradesh, the Congress today said the funds spent on organising the event could have been diverted for the welfare of farmers.
"BJP is spending more than 100 crores in organising the rally. Each person is paid Rs 500 to attend the rally in large numbers," AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh said here.
He alleged that directions have been issued to district collectors and mamledars to bring farmers in huge numbers at the rally.
