Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh today said he was unaware of speculation that he was expected to be fielded from Varanasi Lok Sabha seat against BJP's Prime Ministerial nominee Narendra Modi.
Some television channels have reported that Singh may contest the coming general elections against Modi from the temple city of Varanasi.
When contacted, Singh said, "I don't know. No one has spoken to me as yet."
The Congress is looking to field a strong candidate against Modi while Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal has also decided to enter the electoral fray from Varanasi to defeat the senior BJP leader.
