The Chief Minister has asked Chief Secretary P K Tripathi to formulate a proposal under which one parliamentary constituency will be given to one cabinet minister, sources said.

They said Dikshit herself will monitor developmental works in New Delhi parliamentary constituency.

She has already asked all the MLAs to work closely with various concerned agencies in ensuring proper implementation of various projects while improving coordination with grassroot party workers.

The Congress had suffered defeat in the municipal polls in all the three newly formed civic bodies.

The Chief Minister has also asked all the Ministers and MLAs to educate people about various developmental schemes of the government.

The Government has already completed necessary ground work to regularise around 900 unauthorised colonies which are home to around 40 lakh people and constitute major vote bank.

After the Congress' defeat in municipal polls in April, Dikshit had asked all concerned departments to expedite the regularisation process.

Lack of developmental work in unauthorised colonies, which were traditional Congress strongholds, was identified as a major reason for the defeat in the municipal polls.
