The New Delhi Municipal Corporation plans to plant 5,155 saplings in the next few weeks as part of the drive.
Saplings will be planted in 981 colony parks being maintained by the NDMC besides in schools and government office complexes.
Speaking on the occasion, Dikshit complimented the civic agency for initiating the drive to further enhance the green cover in the areas served by it.
