Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today asked three BJP-ruled municipal corporations to improve their functioning for getting additional funding from the Delhi government.
At a meeting with top officials of the municipal corporations, she particularly asked them to concentrate on improving cleanliness in areas across the city.
The meeting was attended by Urban Development Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely, Chief Secretary D M Spolia, North Delhi Municipal Corporation Mayor Azad Singh and East Delhi Municipal Corporation Mayor Ram Narayan Dubey.

Standing Committee chairmen and leader of the houses of the three corporations besides top officials of the civic bodies and Delhi government were also present.
"Government is willing to help the municipal bodies but we would like to see results," said Dikshit.
The municipal corporation representatives sought better funding and support from the Delhi government and accused it of not extending financial grant due to political considerations.
The corporation leaders said there has been a marked improvement in property tax collection in the last few months.
The representatives of the three corporations raised a number of issues including nomination of the councillors in Delhi Jal Board and DDA.
Dikshit instructed Lovely to convene meetings with civic bodies on regular intervals to resolve the problems being faced by the corporations.
He expressed confidence that the regular meeting would go a long way in streamlining the functioning of the corporations.
