Former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit will be a "key campaigner" for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, Congress said today seeking to scotch speculation about her sulking and being sidelined from playing an active role in the polls.

"I have met her. She will be actively campaigning for the party in Delhi Assembly elections. There is no difference of opinion. She will be a key campaigner," AICC general secretary in-charge for Delhi P C Chacko told PTI.

He, however, did not commit on whether Dikshit will also contest the polls.

He was responding to questions about her sulking after the former Delhi Chief Minister, who was the face of the party for the 2013 Assembly polls in Delhi, did not attend a meeting here to thrash out issues for party manifesto for the upcoming elections, which are expected in a couple of months.

The former Chief Minister and her son Sandeep Dikshit an ex-MP had skipped the December 3 meeting that was attended by most ex-MPs, MLAs, councillors and heads of the party's organisational setup to decide the manifesto issues and campaign strategy to counter BJP and AAP in the state polls.

Dikshit had earlier indicated that she won't be contesting elections. Her absence from the party meeting was seen as her gradually distancing herself from an active role in Delhi politics.

Chacko, however, downplayed their absence from the meeting saying it was an "informal meeting", which the former Delhi Chief Minister could not attend due to her engagements.
