"I have come to meet our leader. We have not talked for a long time. I belong to a political party and she is its leader and this requires no invitation," Trivedi told reporters at the Writers' Buildings.
Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha member Kunal Ghosh said Trivedi would abide by what the party decides on the Presidential election.
Banerjee had earlier said her party would make known its stand on the Presidential election three days ahead of July 19.
Trivedi had kept away from Banerjee since he had exited as Railway Minister to make way for Mamata's close aide Mukul Roy.
