Interacting with university teachers, researchers and students at its Kohima campus, the diplomats suggested to them to avail opportunities of academic exchange programmes, particularly in the field of collaborative research.

NU vice-chancellor Prof B K Konwar briefed the diplomats about the physical and academic development and ongoing research works of this central university with three campuses in different locations of the state.

Led by EU Ambassador Joao Cravinho, seven diplomats from Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, Germany, Poland and Slovakia arrived here yesterday on a three-day visit to Nagaland.

Later, they also interacted with the legislators of Nagaland Assembly which was attended by Speaker Kiyanilie Peseyie.

The diplomats held a meeting with representatives of tribal organisations and civil societies where they were briefed about the socio-cultural life of Naga society and the history of Naga political struggle and the on-going peace process.
