The Commerce and Industry Ministry today asked all associations and federations engaged in manufacturing in 29 sectors, including cigarettes and cosmetics, to provide their updated names and addresses for future correspondence.
"It is being observed for a long time that the letters sent by DIPP to some of these associations/federations are not delivered and returned to the department. The reason for this may be that their addresses may not be updated on their websites," Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) said in a communication.
It clarified that DIPP deals in policy issues in respect of these items.
