"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" director Francis Lawrence is reportedly considering adapting "The Odyssey" for the big screen.

Lionsgate is reuniting Lawrence with his "Mockingjay" screenwriter Peter Craig and producer Nina Jacobson on a film version of Homer's epic poem.

Production on "The Odyssey" is currently being eyed to start up when Lawrence concludes promotion for "Mockingjay - Part 2", according to Deadline.

Lawrence apparently became attached to the project after it was pitched by Motion Picture Group co-president Erik Feig while finishing work on "Mockingjay" in Paris.

"The Odyssey" is a sequel of sorts to ancient Greek writer Homer's first epic poem Iliad.
